Responsibilities - Responsible for the design and implementation of a global-scale machine learning system for chat bot, feeds, ads and search ranking models - Responsible for leveraging large language models in applications, and improving them via techniques like SFT and RLHF - Responsible for improving the workflow of model training and serving, data pipelines and resource management - Responsible for connecting cutting edge academic research with user-facing next generation products

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications - Currently pursuing a BS/MS in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline - Proficient in C/C++/Python/Golang, and have exceptional programming skills (expert with algorithms and data structures). - Familiarity with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow/PyTorch - Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and creatively - Knowledge, passion, curiosity, and exposure to areas in Machine Learning / Artificial intelligence - Experience, research, internship, or coursework related in Large Language Models or related fields - Ability to work independently and complete projects from beginning to end and in a timely manner - Strong teamwork and communication skills. Any hands-on experience or group projects in relevant technical scenarios will be a plus! Preferred Qualifications - Experience in big data frameworks (e.g., K8s/Spark/Hadoop/Flink), experience in resource management and task scheduling for large scale distributed systems, experience in building solutions with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azures, OCI, AliCloud or other cloud services - Strong background in one of the following fields: High Performance Computing, ML Hardware Acceleration (e.g., GPU/TPU/RDMA) or ML for Systems TikTok is committed to creating an inclusive space where employees are valued for their skills, experiences, and unique perspectives. Job Information

[For Pay Transparency]Compensation Description (Annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $116000 - $177000 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
