Intermediate Google Cloud Platform Data Engineer
We are seeking an Intermediate-level Google Cloud Platform Data Engineer to support a digital transformation initiative for our Canadian client. In this role, you will assist in migrating critical SAS-based reporting workflows to Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). Your responsibilities will include developing Google Cloud Platform-native data pipelines, validating migrated data for accuracy and completeness, and ensuring a smooth handover to internal teams.
Intermediate Google Cloud Platform Data Engineer Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in data engineering with hands-on exposure to Google Cloud Platform.
Familiarity with BigQuery, Dataflow, and data orchestration tools (Airflow, Composer).
Basic experience reading or converting SAS code is a strong asset.
Proficient in SQL and Python for data processing and validation.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in distributed teams.
Willingness to learn and take initiative within a fast-paced project.
Intermediate Google Cloud Platform Data Engineer Responsibilities
Support the documentation and reverse engineering of legacy SAS workflows.
Assist in the development of data pipelines using BigQuery, Dataflow, and Composer (or equivalent).
Collaborate on the migration of historical SQL Server data into Google Cloud Platform.
Participate in parallel testing with SAS processes to ensure data accuracy.
Work closely with senior engineers and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver tested outcomes.
Contribute to the final documentation and knowledge transfer for ongoing team ownership.
