DevOps Engineer
Work-Location: LATAM Mexico / Brazil / Argentina
Work Hours: Remote | 8 Hours Overlap with US (PST) Hours
Engagement: Long-Term Contract (No medical/paid leave) | Full-Time (40 hours/week)
About the Role
The Client is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with a strong foundation in AWS cloud infrastructure and a passion for automation, scalability, and operational excellence. You will be instrumental in configuring and optimizing AWS (EKS, RDS, S3) and Cloudflare services, managing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), and deploying high-performance, containerized applications.
This role is perfect for a hands-on problem solver who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams, and can quickly script solutions in Go, Bash, Python, or Ruby to maintain system health and performance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Configure AWS & Cloudflare Services Manage and automate AWS infrastructure, configure Cloudflare to improve performance, security, and scalability.
  • Deploy, Manage, and Optimize Containerized Applications Leverage Amazon EKS and Kubernetes for scalable, reliable deployments.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Management Implement, maintain, and improve GitHub Actions workflows for smooth deployments and integrations across development and production.
  • System Observability & Debugging Utilize tools like Honeycomb, AWS CloudWatch, and OpenTelemetry for deep diagnostics and performance tuning.
  • Security & Compliance Apply cloud and application-layer security best practices using AWS and Cloudflare.
  • Cost & Performance Optimization Improve system efficiency using AWS services, Cloudflare s CDN, and infrastructure tuning.
  • Collaboration & Process Improvement Work with product, design, engineering, and offshore teams to enhance engineering practices and workflows.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Education/Experience: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or 4+ years equivalent experience in DevOps/cloud infrastructure roles.
  • Cloud Expertise: Proficiency in AWS (EKS, EC2, RDS, S3, OpsWorks, CloudWatch, ElastiCache) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Containerization: Strong knowledge of Docker & Kubernetes, with experience in deploying optimized Next.js apps in Dockerized production environments.
  • Programming/Scripting: Ability to quickly write scripts in Go (preferred), Bash, Python, or Ruby.
  • Microservices & APIs: Experience with event-driven architectures, REST & GraphQL APIs, and backend development in Go & Node.js (TypeScript).
  • CI/CD: Hands-on experience managing GitHub Actions pipelines.
  • Monitoring & Debugging: Skilled in observability tools like Honeycomb, OpenTelemetry, debuggers, and logging solutions.
  • Database: Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL design and optimization.
  • Security & Networking: Deep understanding of Cloudflare configurations, DNS management, SSL certificate deployment, and email system configurations.
  • Version Control: Proficiency with Git workflows (branching, merging, tagging, cherry-picking).
  • Domain Experience: Bonus points for experience in ticketing, travel, or hospitality sectors.
