• W2 Contract-to-Hire, 12 Months
• This position is primarily remote. Candidates should reside in Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, DC to consider onsite work in Reston, VA one-to-three times per quarter.

Overview & Responsibilities:

• Join a forward-thinking technical team at a leading healthcare organization as a Senior Software Engineer. We are looking for a talented full-stack developer to build and manage critical applications using a modern Java and React stack. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of your code, from development through deployment in a sophisticated AWS cloud environment, making a direct impact on the team's success.

You will

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable applications using Java (21), Spring Boot (6), and React (18+).
• Build and manage Docker containers for application deployment.
• Create, modify, and deploy applications to Kubernetes clusters running on AWS EKS using Helm charts.
• Work with relational databases, specifically Postgres hosted on AWS RDS.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues across the full stack, including application code, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins), and infrastructure.
• Actively participate in Agile SAFE ceremonies, including mandatory in-person PI Planning events once per quarter.

Required Qualifications:

• Approximately 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java (Java 11 or 17) and the Spring Boot framework.
• Proven experience developing front-end applications with React.
• Hands-on, practical experience with containerization using Docker.
• Demonstrable experience deploying applications with Kubernetes and Helm charts.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services, especially EKS.
• Experience with Postgres databases.
• Based in the DMV area and able to commute for on-site work as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Direct experience programming with Java 21.
• Professional experience with Angular.
• Experience debugging and managing CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins.
• A Bachelor's degree in a related field.
