Job Details

As part of the Field team, colleagues will rely on your knowledge of DAS components, Fiber Optic cables, and Wi-Fi AP’s.  Working independently or as part of a team, you'll help to support and maintain our serving base station locations which includes network troubleshooting, monitoring, and vendor access coordination. It’s a role with a lot of variety, and day-to-day, you’ll mainly be involved with:

  • Performing reactive and preventative maintenance on DAS, Wi-Fi, and other related systems
  • Performing diagnostic troubleshooting and replacing operational devices as needed.
  • Providing 24x365 support of datacenters, DAS & Wi-Fi nodes, and responding as needed.
  • Documenting, tracking, logging, and monitoring all network related problems and ensuring timely issue resolution.
  • Analyzing the network and recommending upgrades/changes to the procedures and policies for continuous improvement.
  • Providing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance or assistance, working with hand tools and test equipment within datacenters, office, and subway station environment.
  • Working at both new and existing locations handling preventative maintenance and ensuring all work is performed to the Boldyn Networks’ best practices and specifications.
  • Programming, troubleshooting and replacement of supporting IP based network components. Training provided as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in RF system repair and working with various RF hardware components such as cables and related test equipment is essential.
  • Some Wireless / Wi-Fi experience is necessary. 
  • An understanding of the testing and troubleshooting of a cellular network. DAS, Wi-Fi or Public Safety is a plus.
  • OSHA 30 and NYCT Track Training certifications required. Training provided as needed.
  • PIM testing and fiber optic cable testing experience is a plus. Training will be provided if needed.  
  • Analytical skills, being detail-oriented and having problem solving skills are key.
  • Maintaining your own safety including PPE, watchful for any hazards and ensuring that any incidents are reported.
  • You must have the ability to understand and implement the training and instruction provided.
  • You should be able to analyze information, probe for clarity, produce solutions, make judgements, and work efficiently and systemically.
  • Understanding objectives, planning, establishing contingencies, managing time and resources, and documenting your progress is essential.
  • A great track record of learning quickly, assessing the issue, and applying your knowledge is key.
  • Focusing on customer needs and satisfaction, setting high quality standards, working systematically, and achieving project goals.
  • Working in datacenters, an office, and subway environments will have related levels of noise present.
  • Traveling throughout NYC may be required to maintain wireless networks.
  • Moving and/or lifting material weighing up to a maximum of 60 pounds may be required.
