Job Description:
Job Title: Emissions Calibration Engineer - SULEV30/PM3 Development

Location: Metro Detroit Area, MI

Duration: January 1 - December 31, 2026

Employment Type: Contract
Project Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Emissions Calibration Engineer to support the development of low-emission technologies aimed at meeting future regulatory standards, including SULEV30 and PM3. This role involves vehicle system testing, calibration optimization, and early capability assessments to support pre-production validation.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Optimize full-cycle emissions calibration (Cold Start, Warmup, Hot Stabilized) to meet stringent tailpipe emission targets.
  • Maintain PM3 capability throughout calibration development.
  • Conduct and refine testing on US06 and NS06 drive cycles.
  • Track vehicle status including fuel type, hardware configuration, and readiness.
  • Participate in test planning and submit test requests on a weekly basis.
  • Coordinate facility and equipment resources for emissions testing.
  • Perform vehicle flashing and data uploads.
  • Support on-site testing and data collection activities.
  • Identify technical concerns and communicate findings to internal engineering teams.
  • Provide calibration improvement suggestions based on test data.
  • Conduct data logging, reduction, and reporting to support calibration decision-making.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering (or related field).
  • 3-7 years of experience in emissions calibration and testing.
  • Strong understanding of SULEV30 and PM3 emissions standards.
  • Experience with vehicle and dynamometer testing environments.
  • Familiarity with calibration tools and data acquisition systems.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with secondary air systems and OBD calibration.
  • Prior work with OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers in emissions development.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments.
Additional Information:

All necessary testing equipment, vehicles, and calibration tools will be provided. The engineer will work closely with internal calibration teams to support emissions development and validation efforts.
