Senior AWS Infrastructure Engineer (Contract)


Job Overview


Seeking a Senior AWS Infrastructure Engineer to support and evolve a cloud-based environment enabling advanced analytics and data science initiatives. This role focuses on managing AWS infrastructure, containerized applications, and providing administrative support for data science platforms.


Must-Have Qualifications



  • Strong Linux system administration background.

  • Deep experience with AWS services and infrastructure management.

  • Hands-on expertise with Docker and containerized application environments.

  • Proven experience administering data science platforms (e.g., RStudio, JupyterHub, MLFlow, Domino Data Lab).

  • Familiarity with supporting analytics workflows and collaboration with data science teams.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and experience supporting production environments.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.



Key Responsibilities



  • Manage and support AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, Aurora PostgreSQL, IAM, etc.).

  • Administer containerized environments (Docker) hosting RStudio, JupyterHub, Streamlit, MLFlow, and PypiCloud.

  • Provide operational support for Snowflake and Domino Data Lab platforms.

  • Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and data scientists to deploy and scale analytic solutions.

  • Troubleshoot performance issues and implement improvements across infrastructure and platforms.

  • Automate processes and monitor system health using tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, or New Relic.

  • Design and document infrastructure architecture and operational procedures.


Nice-to-Have Qualifications



  • AWS certifications (Cloud Practitioner or Solutions Architect).

  • Python scripting and automation experience.

  • Experience with Snowflake, Spark, Desk, or Ray.

  • Understanding of network architecture and cloud security best practices.

  • Experience creating architecture diagrams and system documentation.
