Job Description:
- We are seeking a hands-on, business-savvy Data Architect to lead the design, development, and ongoing management of data systems that support daily manufacturing operations and performance analytics. This role blends strategic data architecture with daily tactical support-ensuring clean, connected, and contextualized data from MES (Rockwell PharmaSuite), SQL databases, and Power BI to empower decision-makers across operations, quality, and leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Architecture & Integration (Strategic):
- Design and implement a structured, scalable data architecture linking MES, ERP, LIMS, and SCADA systems.
- Build and manage SQL-based data pipelines and ETL processes to support manufacturing analytics and compliance reporting.
- Establish data standards, definitions, and governance protocols to ensure high data quality and consistency.
Analytics & Daily Operations Support:
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards that provide real-time insights into production metrics (e.g., batch cycle times, downtime, OEE, quality deviations).
- Serve as the day-to-day go-to for operations, QA, and engineering teams for data troubleshooting, ad hoc reporting, and system data queries.
- Collaborate with floor personnel to translate real-world process challenges into data-driven solutions.
- Monitor daily data feeds and alerts from MES and other systems to proactively address data gaps or process disruptions.
Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement:
- Identify inefficiencies or blind spots in current data workflows and lead efforts to resolve them with better automation, analytics, or data visibility.
- Support and participate in Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives with data analysis and visualization.
- Conduct root cause data investigations and recommend system or process changes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in data analytics, preferably within manufacturing, life sciences, or pharmaceuticals.
- Proficient in SQL (views, stored procedures, query tuning) and relational database management (e.g., SQL Server).
- Proven experience with Power BI (data modeling, DAX, dashboard design, publishing).
- Experience working with Rockwell PharmaSuite or other MES platforms (functional knowledge sufficient for integrating/reporting).
- Ability to engage with cross-functional stakeholders-operators to senior leadership-and translate data into actionable insights.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with GxP, cGMP, and FDA data integrity requirements.
- Understanding of ISA-95 hierarchy and MES-to-ERP integration.
- Experience with scripting or automation tools (e.g., Python, Power Automate) a plus.
- Comfortable in fast-paced, hands-on environments where priorities shift based on operational needs.
