Job Details

Title: Lead IT Engineer - Azure and Azure Virtual Desktop - Performance/Reliability

Duration: 6 Months+

Location: 433 W Van Buren St, Chicago, IL 60607 (on-site)

Job Description: Oversee and contribute to the architecture, design, and implementation of the Bank's Azure and Azure Virtual Desktop environment to ensure performance and reliability.

  • Design and implement appropriate monitoring, logging, and analysis tools and solutions to evaluate the performance of computing environments, maximizing end-user experience.
  • Govern and manage the deployment process for application packages and desktop images, ensuring security requirements, timely issue remediation, and compatibility testing.
  • Regularly explore cost-saving measures through vendor recommendations, industry research, and monitoring environment usage. Perform cost-benefit analysis and assist management in decision-making.
  • Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
  • Provide oversight and management of MS licensing and M365/cloud products, such as Intune, SharePoint Online, Exchange, and OneDrive.
  • Identify, design, and implement automation to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Oversee the technical aspects of projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Guide other engineers by assigning tasks, mentoring, and reviewing work to ensure successful deliverables.
  • Prioritize and plan environment changes to minimize impact on the Bank and its users.
  • Develop and implement technical strategies that align with the company s goals, policies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Represent the team in Bank-wide planning, design, and scoping sessions for solutions impacting Azure, desktops, PCs, Microsoft products, or packaged applications.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols, TCP/IP, and automation tools such as PowerShell or Ansible.
