iSeries RPG Developer
Overview:
A well-established utility and energy provider is seeking an iSeries RPG Developer to support the development, configuration, and administration of its Customer Information System (CIS) and related third-party tools. This individual will work closely with IT leadership, analysts, and development teams to ensure effective delivery of business solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, deploy, and maintain CIS solutions.
- Gather business requirements, perform gap analyses, and document technical specifications.
- Conduct unit and user acceptance testing.
- Participate in peer code reviews and software development lifecycle processes.
- Monitor system health and respond to technical issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project alignment and support.
Required Qualifications:
- Familiarity with application/network design, APIs, middleware, servers, and storage.
- Experience or exposure to RPG development (RPG IV, ILE, Free, SQL ILE).
- Working knowledge of DB2, SQL, and iSeries administration.
Preferred Skills:
- Industry experience in utilities or natural gas.
- Knowledge of billing, revenue, and accounts receivable systems.
- Understanding of iSeries web services, stored procedures, XML, GoAnywhere, MQ Series, and SFTP.
- Familiarity with software such as Turnover, Remain, and iSeries Navigator.
Soft Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to analyze and present technical information clearly.
- Familiarity with various SDLC methodologies (Agile, DevOps, Waterfall, etc.).
- ITIL or ITSM knowledge/certification preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a hybrid environment.
