Job Description ECS is seeking a
UX Designer to work in our
Dayton, OH office.
Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award. The Air Force (AF) Reliability and Maintainability Information System (REMIS), Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Business and Enterprise Systems (BES) Directorate (GB) requires full software development lifecycle activities to preserve and enhance REMIS service capabilities in support of United States (US) warfighters worldwide.
REMIS is the AF Maintenance Enterprise system providing organizational, intermediate and depot level operational authoritative information for all AF weapon systems (Fighter, Bomber, Transport and Helicopter; Remotely Piloted Vehicle (RPV)/Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV); Satellite, Missile; Trainer; Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Vehicles; Communications-Electronics; Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM) and Support Equipment) supporting AF worldwide Operating Bases and Logistic Complexes. REMIS is a data system for collecting, validating, editing, processing, integrating, standardizing and reporting equipment maintenance data, including reliability and maintainability data, on a global basis. REMIS is the Financial System feeder for cost accounting and depreciation of all AF weapon systems.
The scope of services will support the REMIS Program Management Office (PMO), AFLCMC/GBM. ECS will perform all technical and operational support for REMIS which will require expertise in large-scale systems engineering, development, integration, and operational processes.
ECS is looking for an experienced UI/UX Designer who designs and develops user interfaces and user experiences to ensure software products are intuitive, user-friendly, and meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities: Product Backlog Management: - Work with the Product Owner to develop and prioritize user stories.
- Ensure the backlog aligns with the development roadmap and supports rapid changes.
- Conduct user research and usability testing.
- Continuously refine user stories and prioritize based on business value and user impact.
- Maintain traceability across stories, features, and releases.
Agile Development Processes: - Use Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) for iterative delivery.
- Align Agile processes with systems engineering and quality checkpoints.
- Support frequent releases of new capabilities.
- Collaborate on system architecture and develop a Product Roadmap.
- Deliver a Software Development Plan (SDP) and support user story development and estimation.
- Define, review, and refine user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Integrate systems engineering reviews into the Agile lifecycle.
- Measure conformance with the Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan (QASP).
User Manuals and Help Screens: - Maintain and update User Manuals and Help Screens.
- Ensure documentation is clear, concise, and accessible.
- Integrate updates into the Agile development lifecycle.
- Track changes through a version-controlled repository.
- Ensure content meets accessibility requirements.
Testing Processes: - Implement an automated testing framework.
- Use tools like Zephyr, Selenium, JUnit, Xray, and TestComplete.
- Develop and maintain a Test Automation Framework (TAF).
- Leverage AI-enhanced test automation.
- Design and maintain a testing environment that simulates production.
- Provide detailed reports on testing outcomes.
- Continuously improve the testing process.
- Establish testing metrics to measure effectiveness and performance.
Additional Responsibilities: - Align Agile acceptance criteria and sprint review processes with performance measures.
- Establish Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes.
- Incorporate security testing into the CI/CD pipeline.
- Support automated testing and quality assurance.
- Execute Sprints using Story Point Estimation and Effort Hours.
- Conduct Sprint Retrospectives.
- Use Agile development tools like Microsoft Azure DevOps.
- Use tools like Jira, Confluence, and Remedy to track Agile work activities.
- Use Agile metrics to track performance.
- Deliver quarterly Agile Metrics Report.
The UX/UI Designer role will be on-site at Wright-Patterson AFB, Dayton, OH, and will require a SECRET clearance.
Required Skills - 5+ years of experience as a UX/UI Designer or similar role.
- B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related area.
- Active Secret (or higher) security clearance.
- Expertise in designing user interfaces and experiences.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools.
- Ability to manage complex tasks with creativity and innovation.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering and documentation.
- Experience conducting user research and usability testing.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with tools like Confluence, Jira, and Bitbucket.
- Knowledge of CI/CD processes and security testing tools.
- Experience with automated testing and quality assurance.
- Proficiency in using Agile metrics to track performance.
