Job Summary:

As a Storage Engineer within our Digital Infrastructure Practice, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining storage solutions to meet the data storage and management needs of our clients. Leveraging your expertise in storage technologies, data management principles, and infrastructure best practices, you will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of storage environments. Your technical skills and attention to detail will contribute to the success of our clients' digital transformation initiatives and business objectives.

Essential Functions:
  • Design and architecture of storage solutions, and object storage systems, to meet client requirements for performance, capacity, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to understand business needs, technical requirements, and infrastructure constraints, translating them into robust storage designs.
  • Evaluate storage technologies, products, and vendors to recommend optimal solutions aligned with industry best practices and emerging trends.
  • Implement and deploy storage solutions, working closely with engineers, technicians, and project managers to ensure successful execution.
  • Configure storage arrays, switches, and protocols according to design specifications, optimizing performance, availability, and data protection.
  • Conduct testing, validation, and documentation of storage configurations, ensuring adherence to standards and compliance requirements.
  • Analyze storage performance metrics, throughput, latency, and capacity utilization, to identify bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.
  • Implement performance tuning strategies, caching, and tiering, to improve storage efficiency, responsiveness, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Conduct load testing, benchmarking, and capacity planning to anticipate future storage needs and optimize resource utilization.
  • Develop data management policies, procedures, and best practices for storage provisioning, allocation, and lifecycle management.
  • Implement data protection mechanisms, including backup, replication, and disaster recovery solutions, to ensure data integrity, availability, and resilience.

  • Strong understanding of data management concepts, backup and recovery strategies, disaster recovery planning, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose complex storage issues and implement effective solutions.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Extensive experience in storage engineering roles, with a focus on designing, implementing, and managing storage solutions in enterprise environments.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
