Role:- Senior Mobile Device Platform Software Engineer
Location: Philadelphia, PA- Onsite
Job Description Summary
Do you have a deep understanding of the wireless telecom ecosystem, paired with passion and discipline for working with new and emerging products and technologies? We are looking for a Device Development Engineer with hands-on experience with Android and iOS-based devices (Phones, Tablets, Wearables). You will work closely with engineering, product management, and vendors to ensure that our devices meet the needs of our customers and align with our overall business strategy. You will collaborate with the stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.

This Principal Engineer should have a good and deep understanding of current wireless/cellular technologies and the ability to simplify complex technical concepts to effectively communicate with both technical & non-technical audiences. You will evaluate the emerging technologies to identify the challenges and opportunities, track industry trends and advancements in wireless technology to ensure that our products and services are aligned with the latest standards and best practices,and guide a team of engineers toward goals.
Additional responsibilities:
o Act as a technical contact and liaison for outside vendors and/or customers
o Present and defend architectural, design, and technical choices to internal and external audiences.
o Research and analyze technical references to obtain knowledge and gain exposure to the latest developments in technology.
o Oversee the researching, writing, and editing of documentation and technical requirements, including evaluation plans, test results, technical documentation, and formal recommendations and reports.
Qualifications:
o Strong understanding of wireless technologies, including but not limited to CDMA, LTE, 5G, WiFi, Bluetooth, and Data Offload.
o Skills to analyze network and device logs (QXDM, IP packet captures, etc.) to validate and create test cases for requirements.
o Bachelor s degree in electrical engineering/computer science or related field, Master's degree preferred
o 10+ years of experience in managing requirements, product development, or related field.
o good understanding of 3GPP, PTCRB, GCF, WiFi wireless standards
o good understanding of key networking and IP communication concepts (TCP/UDP, IP, DHCP, DNS, etc.)
o Knowledge of key logging tools (QXDM, Wireshark, and others)
o good understanding of the lab test equipment (Emulators, Shield chambers, etc.)
o Familiar with SQL and scripting languages
o Experience with JIRA/Confluence to manage the processes and requirements.
o Understanding of network and device provisioning and management systems
o Excellent collaboration and coordination skills to manage a matrixed team from various internal orgs.
o Must be a self-starter and quick learner, able to work in a fast-paced environment independently with minimum supervision
o Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
o Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
