Job Description

NBCUniversal's E! News Digital is seeking a Los Angeles-based Producer for our digital series, "The Rundown." This role works closely with the showrunner to execute all aspects of the show.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead production team under showrunner to produce content for "E! News: The Rundown," E! News's longest running digital franchise
  • Pitch unique and engaging episode concepts daily that reflect the tone of the show while exhibiting a strong POV
  • Take story pitches through every phase of production (i.e. research, script writing, asset placement, overseeing edit)
  • Exercise strong editorial judgement and maintain brand tone in scripts and finished videos
  • Manage daily duties of Associate Producers and Production Assistants in pulling supporting b-roll, SOTs, and still images for stories
  • Work closely with video editors and graphic artists to ensure finished product reflects script and is legally and creatively approved
  • Produce guest interviews from conception to fruition: including research, writing questions, ideating game concepts, and working with video editors to cut down footage into a succinct package
  • Work closely with talent to coordinate schedule and shoot needs
  • Partner closely with Director of Photography in pre-production and production of shoots, ideating shot lists, location-scouting as necessary and properly coordinating footage delivery between teams
  • Liaise with photo team, booking team, legal team, art department and production management when called for
  • Direct stand ups with talent on set and on field shoots (red carpets, junkets, festivals, award shows)
  • Collaborate with sales team to lead execution of branded content, developing creative concepts that are executable in nature and budget
  • Take an analytical approach to show performance especially in the formation of engaging headlines and other display copy following editorial best practices
  • Work with other digital editorial teams to best optimize shared content for various platforms
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5-year production experience on any platform (TV, Digital, Social)
  • Strong pitching/writing skills and video content production background
  • Expansive pop culture and entertainment knowledge
  • Organized, detail-oriented and ability to work in collaborative environment
  • Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule and willingness to work overtime and on weekends with short notice when necessary

Desired Characteristics:

  • Thorough understanding of the digital content space and the challenging dynamics behind it
  • Deep technical understanding of video production
  • Solution-oriented and have a proven ability to innovate
  • Maintains professional set etiquette even in high-stress situations
  • Writing background, a plus
  • Possess working knowledge of basic video editing functions and production tools
  • Ability to work in a highly creative ad deadline driven environment

Hybrid : This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Salary range: $90,000-$110,000
