As an MT Design Engineer in the Non-Volatile-Engineering NAND Flash design team at Micron Technology, Inc., you will contribute to the development of memory products that are best-in-class in terms of die size, performance, reliability, and power.

What's Encouraged Daily
  • Take part in multi-functional key features evaluation and recommend an architecture decision.
  • By understanding design specification at the chip level, you will break down functions into circuits in the analog and/or digital domain, and design, simulate, optimize, and floor plan NAND circuits using specialized knowledge of Micron proprietary methods.
  • Evaluate design feasibility and analyze circuit functionalities, implement analog and mixed signal circuit design to meet specifications, validate design performance and functionalities by running block and chip level simulations using standard industry simulators, creating clear and effective documentation.
  • Direct layout implementation according to performance and matching specifications to reach optimal circuit size.
  • Coordinate the engineering efforts of small focused teams or design groups.
  • Work closely with other functional teams to evaluate, analyze, and improve NAND die size, performance, and power consumption.
  • Support the efforts of groups such as Product Engineering, Test, Probe, Process Integration, Assembly, and Marketing to proactively design products to optimize all manufacturing functions and ensure the best cost, quality, root-cause analysis, reliability, time-to-market, and customer satisfaction.


How To Qualify
  • MS/Ph.D preferred, or BS in electrical engineering
  • 6+ years of industry experience in semi-conductor industry
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of analog circuits and CMOS device physics, including floorplan layout nuances and tradeoffs.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of NAND memory and periphery circuits
  • An understanding of semiconductor reliability issues including CHC, NBTI, stress, and snapback, as well as Electromigration (EM) and IR analysis
  • Strong circuit debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience guiding layout.
  • Good teamwork and relationship skills.
  • Good verbal communication skills (English) and ability to convey complex technical concepts in verbal and written form
  • Self-motivated, result-oriented and a team player (on the same team and outside of the team).


What Sets You Apart
  • Knowledge of analog and digital simulators such as HSPICE, Fast SPICE, and Verilog
  • Familiarity with Cadence design, LVS/DRC tools (a plus).
  • Experience with a scripting language.
  • Familiarity with Linux/UNIX


The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$158,000.00 - $302,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
