Now Hiring: Senior Internal Business Systems Analyst (Hybrid Role)

Location Requirement: Must be a Wisconsin resident or willing to relocate to WI before starting.
Work Mode: Hybrid — 1–2 days onsite/week in Madison, WI, remaining remote with reliable high-speed internet.


Project Overview: Grant Administration System Modernization

A statewide modernization initiative is underway to centralize and enhance grant administration systems. The project focuses on improving the efficiency, transparency, and accountability of managing federal and state-funded grants.

The upcoming system will replace outdated, manual processes with a centralized solution to:
Automate grant application, review, and award workflows
Improve data-driven decision-making with dashboards
Ensure compliance with state/federal financial rules
Enhance collaboration among program staff and grantees
Seamlessly integrate with financial/payment systems


Your Role: Senior Internal Business Systems Analyst 

You'll act as a bridge between business and technical teams, ensuring stakeholder needs are translated into functional solutions for the future Grant Administration System.


Key Responsibilities

Stakeholder Engagement & Analysis:

  • Lead interviews, workshops, and working sessions

  • Elicit, define, and prioritize business needs

  • Analyze and document current-state workflows

Future-State Design & Documentation:

  • Define future-state process maps, use cases, and workflows

  • Draft functional & technical requirements

  • Conduct gap analyses and data mapping

  • Support system feasibility studies and cost estimation

Collaboration & Validation:

  • Work closely with technical teams to ensure solution alignment

  • Facilitate validation of business needs vs. system functionality

  • Contribute to system selection, design, and vendor coordination


Key Skills & Qualifications

6–9 years of experience as a Business or Systems Analyst
Proficient in evaluating business/technical needs & proposing solutions
Strong documentation: requirements, test cases, specs, etc.
Ability to assess technologies and aid in training efforts
Self-starter with minimal supervision and independent judgment
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
