RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is hiring for a Desktop Technician in San Antonio, TX. Under general supervision, the Desktop Technician is responsible for providing technical support for software and hardware, as well as informal training on technology use in response to user requests. Duties include performing configuration changes, updates, and upgrades, and assisting with the deployment of new images, software/hardware upgrades, and fixes. This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Job Functions:
* Install desktops, laptops, tablets, and peripherals
* Respond to Tier II support requests via phone, email, and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams) while maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor
* Follow established procedures for configuration changes, updates, and upgrades; Assist with PC replacement programs and software/hardware deployments
* Document incident/problem status and resolutions in tracking systems; Communicate updates promptly to ensure user satisfaction
* Identify recurring issues, document solutions, and share responses to frequently asked questions
* Troubleshoot technical problems using checklists and scripts; escalate issues when necessary
* Provide on-the-spot training to users as needed
* Provide professional and courteous support for executive-level staff and organizational partners
* Perform diagnostics, repairs, and replacements for damaged hardware
* Identify and implement innovative technology solutions to prevent or resolve issues
* Assist with IT asset management and inventory tracking
* Maintain accurate records of repairs, fixes, and software inventories
* Manage and resolve Help Desk tickets to completion, including remote troubleshooting for offsite users
* Create and maintain technology support documentation and processes
* Provide basic troubleshooting for network connectivity issues related to IT assets (e.g., phones, scanners, payment devices)

REQUIREMENTS:
* Strong customer service and communication skills
* Working knowledge of Dell and Apple hardware (desktops, laptops, docking stations, multi-display setups, tablets)
* Familiarity with audio/visual equipment and conferencing tools (e.g., WebEx, Zoom)
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing and verbally
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team and educational environment
* Ability to travel between locations as needed
* Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends for events or emergencies

Technical proficiency with Windows 11 and Microsoft 365, including:
* OneDrive
* Microsoft Teams and SharePoint
* Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access)
* Collaboration features within Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Physical Requirements:
* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
* Visual acuity, speech, and hearing required
* Manual dexterity for operating office equipment
* Frequent walking, standing, sitting, reaching, and crouching
Work primarily performed in an office environment

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
