Job Description
A mid-level Mechanical Engineer job in High Ridge, MO is currently available at Belcan. This is a 6-month contract to direct hire position. To be considered for this role, you will need a Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field, preferably Mechanical, and at least 5 years of mechanical design experience and/or manufacturing experience.
Job Duties:
The engineer will complete mechanical design tasks and be the primary link between onsite and offsite engineering teams supporting the manufacturing of naval and commercial heat transfer systems, including custom engineered coils as well as refrigeration and air handling systems. The engineer will be responsible for the design, drafting, and release of components used in both the final products as well as the manufacturing of the final products. The engineer will also help investigate and disposition manufacturing issues as they occur. When working as a liaison to the offsite team, the engineer will provide guidance on technical documentation creation, such as engineering drawings and processes, as well as be a knowledge source of applicable internal and external specifications. The engineer will facilitate project requirement gathering, kickoff meetings, and consistently ensure that the projects they own are in alignment with expectations from all technical and project stakeholders. The engineer will be responsible for status communication to all levels of project stakeholders.
Requirements:
o Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field from an accredited institution.
o 5+ years of experience in a mechanical design and/or manufacturing industry.
o Candidate must have PTC Creo CAD modeling and drafting experience.
o Candidate must have excellent hands on mechanical aptitude skills.
o Candidate must have excellent problem solving and analytical thinking skills.
o Candidate must be able to excel in a fast moving manufacturing and assembly environment.
o Candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
o Legal authorization to work in the U.S. as a U.S. citizen.
Preferred:
o Experience and understanding of manufacturing processes, specifically with the manufacturing, quality assurance, and engineering validation of naval and defense systems.
o Experience using configuration management and change control software and practices.
o Experience working independently and exerting sound judgement when dealing with complicated engineering problems.
o Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including their overall schedules and completion of their deliverables under tight deadlines.
o Familiarity with continuous improvement initiatives as they relate to manufacturing settings and processes.
o Familiarity with heat exchanger design and operational methodology.
