Job Title: Business Analyst or Actuarial Analyst with Reserving Focus

Job Summary:

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead analysis and business requirements gathering for actuarial reserving processes across multiple lines of specialty insurance.
  • Serve as the Actuarial Subject Matter Expert, translating business needs into technical solutions for loss development, Rate adequacy calculations , IBNR estimation, and reserve adequacy monitoring.
  • Re-engineer and document existing actuarial workflows and data pipelines, often with limited or outdated documentation.
  • Build and maintain reserving-related tools and models using Excel (advanced functions, macros/VBA), Microsoft Access, and SQL Server.
  • Collaborate with actuarial and finance teams to ensure accurate reserve calculations and data integrity for financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify and drive improvements in reserving methodologies, assumptions, and reporting.
  • Support the creation of dashboards, data extracts, and reports for claims development, reserve triangulations, and risk analysis.
  • Ensure data validation, reconciliation, and transformation meet actuarial and audit requirements.
