Department Overview
- The role IT Techno-Functional Analyst UIPlanner is to configure, implement, maintain, and upgrade UIPlanner all modules.
- The Functional Analyst analyzes business requirements, creates functional design documents, and performs UIPlanner system configuration and localization to provide system solutions for the Line of Business and IT organizations.
- This role is viewed as an integral strategic partner and business liaison in technology decisions and provides ongoing UI Planner system support. This includes analyzing business requirements and developing integrated IT and complex business solutions.
Responsibilities
- Business Support and Consulting:
- Define standard processes in UIPlanner and drive adaptation in Finance areas.
- Analyze end-to-end complex business processes across all modules within UIPlanner
- Understand in detail the current and future business environment of the business organizations; effectively anticipate, identify, and fully meet the business needs using an integrated approach leveraging existing and new UIPlanner capabilities.
- Identify, propose, and influence IT solutions to complex cross- organizational business problems utilizing ERP capabilities; negotiate requirements and deliverables across multiple business and IT customers and organizations.
- Evaluate current customizations in the system to help business and IT partners understand risks and costs of customizing vs. using standard functionalities, advocating for using standard functionalities to lower future implementation cost and total cost of ownership (TCO) for solutions.
Functional Analysis:
- Automate/optimize UIPlanner system.
- Map business requirements to SAP S4 / SAP BW4HANA system capabilities and configure to meet requirements.
- Review design and technical specification documents for alignment with business solution.
- Perform UIPlanner configuration and do quality review and testing activities.
Qualifications Minimum:
- Bachelor s degree in computer science or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
- 10 years of job-related experience in Information Technology
- 8 years of experience as a Functional Analyst in UIPlanner system
- Project creation, estimating, approval
Desired:
- Creating checks and balances to prevent data issues in automated processes
- Month-End Close Processes
- UIPlanner Integration Tools
- SDLC and Integration Best Practices/ETL processes
- Expertise in UIPlanner Financial Model, including calculation configuration, report construction, inbound and outbound interface design, and system design and best practices
- Preferred expertise in additional UIPlanner Modules including Regulatory and Rate Design, PlannerDash, Shared Tables, Capital Planning, Budget, Plant Book / Plant Tax, and Customer Revenue
- Experience managing IT transformation and software implementation projects
- Expertise in SQL and Database architecture for UIPlanner interfaces
- Ability to investigate reported issues, isolate causes, and deploy fixes with a quick turn-around
- Ability to act as liaison between finance and IT teams and outside vendors
- Ability to design and execute training plans and create user guides and related documentation
- Broad understanding of Utility Finance and Regulated Accounting for Electric and Gas Utilities
- In-depth understanding of utility accounting concepts such as deferred accounting, CWIP/AFUDC, rate base, revenue requirements, rate design, decoupling.
- Experience with Rate Case processes as well as general Regulatory and Government Affairs activities
- Background or experience in Financial Forecasting or experience on a Utility FP&A team preferred
- Familiarity with PowerPlan, SAP, Oracle, and other accounting and ERP systems for utilities
- Proven track record of being able to design and implement end-to-end processes in UIPlanner, including requirements gathering, project planning, application configuration and report design, and interface construction
- Development experience in Java preferred
