Our challenge

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead Java Developer with hands-on experience in designing, developing, and implementing scalable software solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices architecture, API development, Angular, and Kafka. Candidate will play a key role in our technology team, driving the development of innovative applications and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Pittsburgh, PA/Dallas, TX is $105k - $115k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:
  • Lead, Design, development, and deployment of Java-based enterprise applications.
  • Lead and develop microservices using Spring Boot and related frameworks.
  • Create and maintain RESTful APIs for seamless integration with frontend and other backend services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Implement efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code adhering to best practices.
  • Develop and enhance front-end components using Angular.
  • Integrate and manage messaging systems using Kafka for real-time data processing.
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate relevant innovations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in Java development.
  • Extensive experience with Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
  • Proven experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Strong knowledge of Angular and front-end development.
  • Hands-on experience with Kafka or other messaging systems.
  • Familiarity with database systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred, but not required:
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies (e.g., Azure, AWS) and microservices architecture.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
  • Experience with front-end frameworks and libraries beyond Angular (e.g., React, Vue.js).
