Software Engineer

(Java programmer / C++)

Location: Fully onsite in Norfolk, VA

Employment Type: 6 Month Contract to Fulltime Hire (conversion based on performance)

Pay: $50.00 - $65.00 /hr. (salary conversion when perm)

Clearance: Must have Active DoD Secret Clearance

Certification: Must have Security + or IAT II

Years of Experience: Must have 5+ years of hands on experience in Software Engineering/Development

Job Description:
  • Develop and sustain desktop client applications.
  • Assist in the creation of software documentation.
  • Provide status of tasking to project leads and management.
  • Work effectively in a highly collaborative team-oriented environment. Demonstrate initiative by identifying solutions for problems and influencing team members to implement them.
  • Promote software testing best practices.
  • Work with stakeholders, development, and support teams to ensure understanding of change requests.
  • Perform SIT and DIT testing for changes to applications.


Qualification:
  • Skilled in C/C++, Java, SQL, Bash, Maven, and Make
  • Experience developing SOAP and RESTful Web Services
  • Knowledgeable with Micro Focus ALM and UFT
  • Familiarity w/ JIRA or similar tracking tools
  • Experience with RDBMS such as Sybase, SQL Server, or Oracle
  • Experience in Agile environments
  • Should have working knowledge of DevSecOps concepts to include continuous (delivery, deployment, integration) release process, versioning, configuration management and build process
