Role Overview
We are seeking a Head of Technical Product Management to lead the product strategy and execution for Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Automation & Control software solutions. This role owns the end-to-end product management function, including product vision, roadmap execution, team leadership, and technical sales support for the North American market.
The ideal candidate will bring deep utilities domain expertise, proven leadership experience, and a strong background in SCADA, ADMS, EMS, DERMS, and grid modernization platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap
Define and execute the product vision and strategy for T&D automation and control software (SCADA, ADMS, EMS, DERMS, Historian, WAMS, Field Force Automation).
Own and maintain a multi-year product roadmap aligned with market trends, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies.
Ensure strong alignment between customer needs, business objectives, and technology innovation.
Team Leadership & Management
Lead, mentor, and scale a team of Technical Product Managers.
Establish best practices for Agile product management, product lifecycle management, and go-to-market execution.
Foster collaboration across engineering, sales, customer success, and delivery teams.
Product Development & Execution
Prioritize and drive feature development for grid automation, control systems, and energy management platforms.
Partner with engineering and regional delivery teams to ensure on-time, high-quality software releases.
Drive adoption of cloud, AI/ML, and edge computing technologies across the product portfolio.
Market & Customer Engagement
Engage with utilities, regulators, and industry stakeholders to understand customer challenges and market dynamics.
Monitor industry standards, cybersecurity requirements, and grid modernization initiatives.
Support Sales & Marketing with product positioning, competitive analysis, and go-to-market strategy.
Technical Sales Support (USA)
Act as the technical bridge between product teams and sales organizations.
Lead technical pre-sales activities, including product demos, RFIs/RFPs, and solution presentations.
Financial & Business Impact
Optimize pricing, licensing, and monetization strategies.
Define and track KPIs to measure product adoption, performance, and profitability.
Required Qualifications
18+ years of experience in Technical Product Management for T&D Automation & Control software.
Strong hands-on background with SCADA, EMS, ADMS, DERMS, WAMS, and grid analytics platforms.
Expertise in software development, cloud platforms, AI/ML, and edge computing within power systems.
Proven experience leading and scaling product management teams.
Experience working with utilities, regulatory bodies, and grid modernization programs.
Strong knowledge of industry standards (IEC 61850, CIM, IEEE 2030.5, OpenFMB, NERC CIP).
3+ years of experience supporting technical sales or pre-sales in the North American market (preferred).
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
MBA or Master’s degree in Power Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
