Job Description:

The Client is seeking a seasoned Technical Oversight Specialist to provide expert-level support and governance to Mechanical Enterprise Risk Projects. This role ensures project execution meets the highest standards of safety, quality, schedule, and cost effectiveness. You'll be the technical authority, partnering with Project Managers to validate strategies and drive successful delivery of complex nuclear projects.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Review & Strategy Optimization
  • Analyze project documentation to identify and implement strategies that improve schedule, quality, and resource efficiency.
  • Review and validate work order tasks (WOTs) for completeness, accuracy, and safety compliance.
  • Improve testing and acceptance plans across factory, shop, site, and post-modification phases.
  • Guide effective mock-up activities and communicate relevant industry operating experiences.
  • Serve as ASME Person in Charge (PIC) for Section XI Repair & Replacement scopes as needed.

Governance & Oversight
  • Maintain expertise in applicable codes, standards, and implementation methodologies.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to project leadership on strategy and execution.
  • Oversee field activities, coaching teams and ensuring adherence to approved plans.
  • Step in as shift lead when required, managing crews of 50+ personnel.

Support & Collaboration
  • Coordinate resources and collaborate with vendors to eliminate roadblocks.
  • Participate in high-level strategy meetings, including Design Reviews, Risk Management, and Project Readiness sessions.

Impact Your work directly contributes to significant cost and schedule savings during critical path refueling outages-helping reduce outage durations by millions and mitigate execution risks worth tens of millions.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in mechanical systems, nuclear projects, or similar regulated technical fields
  • Deep understanding of ASME Section XI, weld documentation, and lifecycle project controls
  • Demonstrated ability to review complex technical documentation and identify strategic improvements
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, especially in high-risk, large-team environments


Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience leading refueling outage projects or critical path strategy development
  • Familiarity with radiological strategies and decontamination protocols
  • Proven impact in improving project execution outcomes
