Job Description:
This is a lead position in the Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Management team that is managing the Recovery Service for the client s IT environment. The role primarily involves leading and supporting recovery activities, maintaining recovery plans, overseeing and conducting BCP and DR exercise planning, and coordinating execution during exercises or real-life recovery invocation activities for a heterogeneous technology and service delivery environment.
This role requires strong client relationship management at the onsite location. It demands strong managerial skills to work with multiple delivery teams both offshore and onsite to monitor day-to-day recovery readiness and preparedness of the environment, along with reporting and coordinating activities during recovery execution in drills, exercises, and disaster declaration scenarios.
Work Experience
- Overall IT professional experience of 15+ years
- At least 10+ years in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery Management, Planning, Coordination, and Management
Responsibilities
- Overall program governance; report the health status of the DR program
- Lead quarterly reviews with client leadership teams
- Propose gaps and recommendations in DR operations by bringing in industry best practices used by organizations of similar size and scale
- Govern overall DR planning and exercising of recovery testing
- Excellent understanding of recovery strategies and various infrastructure technologies such as Storage, Backup, Networks, Security, and Operating Systems (WINTEL, Linux, Solaris)
- Understand various services provided by the service provider and lead the continuity and resiliency of service delivery
- Experience in identifying technology domains causing incidents or issues during a disaster recovery exercise
- Strong understanding of the Recovery & Resilience Management life cycle
- Determine adequate test environment requirements and create drill/test plans
- Lead efforts for DR environment testing for datacenter failover and failback, as well as BCP testing
- Coordinate drill execution, track incidents/issues during drills
- Collect, analyze, and report recovery testing data and recommend improvements to enhance recovery performance
- Provide leadership, management reporting, and presentation support
- Manage a team of Disaster Recovery Consultants and effectively handle customer interactions
- Proficient in tools that enable BCP & DR replication and automation
- Drive the customer toward a streamlined BCP & DR approach for business-as-usual sustainability and readiness
- Streamline Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery processes and operations for the customer
- Define the recovery testing calendar and engage with customer Application and Business teams
