Description

SAIC is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to join our team to support the Department of Air Force's (DAF) Advanced Battle Management System's (ABMS) Digital Infrastructure (DI), Digital Infrastructure Processing Node (DIPN) Product Line Team. ABMS is the Air Force's latest effort to create a next-generation command and control (C2) system and is a top modernization priority for the DAF. ABMS will be the backbone of a network-centric approach to battle management in partnership with all the services across the Department of Defense. The broader effort known as the Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) is focused on rapid integration of capabilities and modernizing the decision-making processes for combat operations.

To accomplish the DAF's mission, the government in partnership with the ABMS Consortium will develop a multiple DIPN Products to include the Deployable Digital Infrastructure (DDI) and Fixed Digital Infrastructure (FDI).

Job Responsibilities to include:
  • Designs, implements, and troubleshoots DIPN deployment automations.
  • Integrates a variety of familiar and unfamiliar technologies into orchestrated solutions.
  • Analyzes gaps in technology solutions and designs paths to close them.
  • Follows directions provided by the team leaders in implementation and scope.
  • Develops and follows installation, integration, and test procedures.
  • Automates manual procedures.
  • Documents procedures in clear and unambiguous manner.
  • Demonstrates work to a variety of audiences.
  • Participates in and contributes to the team's Agile ceremonies, including daily scrum, Sprint and Program Increment planning, and retrospective meetings.
  • Helps teammates to achieve success in their tasking.
  • Reviews work and provides actionable feedback to teammates.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Science, or related field and 9 years of hands-on experience of independently working with:
  • Strong experience in developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) automation, including Ansible roles with supporting Molecule tests; reusable and maintainable code for production systems (Linux shell, Bash, Python).
  • Experience developing and maintaining pipelines in Gitea, GitLab, or similar CI/CD platforms, automation design and implementation with Gitlab CI, ArgoCD, Flux, Terraform, Nexus Repository Manager, Artifactory, and release pipelines for CI/CD of production quality software.
  • Solid experience administering Linux environments, troubleshooting system issues, networking problems, Kickstart and PXE.
  • Procedure automation using scripting technologies like Python, Linux shells, Windows PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform.
  • Hands-on experience in Kubernetes & Platform Operations, including installation, configuration, and lifecycle management and troubleshooting Kubernetes and container runtime (ex: podman) application deployments, hypervisor or hyperconverged infrastructure platforms built on Kubernetes (e.g., Harvester, Rancher, or similar solutions). and Kubernetes.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and their services (e.g., compute, storage, networking), VPC, subnets, VPN, firewalls, and load balancers, using Terraform for provisioning and managing cloud and hardware resources.
  • Implementing solutions following the principles of RBAC, least-privilege, authentication and authorization, PKI and certificate management, secure networking and containerization, container image scanning.

Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
