Job Description
Performs technical work related to installation, maintenance, and repair of complex networked clinical engineering equipment, devices or systems. Provides technical support to project teams upon installation and configuration of networked medical equipment, as well as support and basic functionality training to clinical/ medical equipment end users. Supports processes/procedures relative to security and use of networked medical equipment technologies.
Job Responsibility
1.Installs, calibrates, tests, analyzes, troubleshoots and repairs complex networked Clinical Engineering equipment, devices or systems, utilizing electronic test and measurement equipment and techniques.
2.Performs incoming inspections, and asset registration within dedicated Computerized Maintenance Management System database on all newly acquired equipment
3.Responsible for entering into dedicated Computerized Maintenance Management System database accurate and timely record of all tasks of work performed (Work Orders), as well as updating asset records to record any changes (hardware/software updates or replacements).
4.Performs scheduled preventative maintenance, including application of security and other critical software patches of complex networked medical equipment (e.g. Networked Physiological Monitoring), in accordance with Northwell Information Technology (ICIO) requirements, manufacturer's recommendations, applicable codes, standards, and department policy.
5.Assists in providing basic functionality training clinical staff and end users on safe and proper use of complex networked medical equipment.
6.Supports senior level team counterparts in their interactions with clinical staff on a regular basis to insure needs are being met.
7.Proficient in all technical training related to Clinical Engineering Technician's care, maintenance and troubleshooting, of networked medical devices. Supports other Clinical Engineering technicians by providing guidance on basic networking principles and troubleshooting steps for connected medical equipment.
8.Documents and maintains accurate records of all inspections, repairs, device patching and other service performed on networked medical equipment. Requests/orders necessary repair and spare parts according to established procedures and contract relationships. Assists in the installation of new networked medical equipment.
9.Participates in both internal and external educational programs through professional associations to develop and maintain required current technical aptitude.
10.Works collaboratively with all peer groups within Northwell's Information Technology division, to ensure project goals are attained.
11.Interacts with OEMs (original equipment manufacturer) on questions related to device specifications or to obtain other necessary technical information.

Job Qualification
Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
1-2 years of relevant experience, required.
Cisco certification, preferred.
