Senior Backend Software Engineer

What does a successful Senior Backend Software Engineer do at Fiserv?

As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will be a critical member of a fast-paced Agile software development team. You will be a part of a team that is building the Merchants Onboarding & Client Implementations platforms.

You will be a hands on technical leader and act as a go to person for other engineers on this team.

This team is responsible for partnering and collaborating with internal clients/entities, our Product Management and Commercialization teams, as well as designing and delivering software solutions that helps Fiserv reduce cost and generate revenue.

What you will do:

  • Act as a lead technical voice in the requirements gathering phase of projects
  • Participate in client meetings and provide meaning insights into the solutions
  • Develop and auto-execute unit test cases integrated with builds


What you will need to have:

  • 10+ years of experience in Java backend development
  • 10+ years of experience in design and building complex software utilizing Java, Spring Boot, and microservices technology stack
  • 10+ year of experience in object-oriented methodologies, design patterns and life cycles
  • 10+ years of experience with build/deployment tools, CI/CD pipelines, GITs, Maven, JIRA and Confluence
  • 10+ years of experience in scripting i.e., Python, bash/shell/etc, SCM tools such as Gits
  • 10+ years of experience in relational and NoSQL databases
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, or military experience


What would be great to have:

  • Experience with React/Node.js
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies and practices with full development lifecycle from inception through implementation
  • Experience with SSO, HMAC, OAuth and Certificates and token cryptographic authentication methods/technique
  • Experience with cloud services, orchestration tools, and containerization
  • Financial services/Payments industry experience

Salary Range

$124,300.00 - $213,100.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey, New York and California. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
