Job: IN-IDOH Environmental Engineer (773208)

Location : Remote

Client : State of IN

Consultant pay rate: depending on level of experience

Work schedule is 37.5 hours per week for an indefinite period of time. Candidate must be available to work during state office hours 8:15am - 4:45pm EST. Please confirm the resource understands the work schedule and engagement duration.

The Environmental Engineer conducts plan reviews and related work to determine compliance with applicable laws, rules, and standards in conformance with the mission and vision of the Indiana Department of Health to protect public health in the construction and operation of health care facilities and other structures that require plan review and approval. Emphasis is on applying architectural and engineering standards, safety, sanitation, water supply, sewage disposal, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and state licensing requirements as applicable for facilities located in Indiana requiring State approval.

Resource will be responsible for prompt responses back to the general public, consultants, contractors and the regulated community.

Experience reading blueprints and plans, analyzing data, interpreting findings, and recommending a course of action. Required 1 Years

Knowledge of laws, rules, technical guidelines, and policies concerning environmental engineering, environmental sanitation, on-site sewage disposal. Required 1 Years

Knowledge of environmental engineering, sanitation, public health science, environmental health science, soils, and mathematics. Required 1 Years

Knowledge of environmental and public health principles and practices as they pertain to facilities subject to state laws and rules. Required 1 Years

Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or related field. Required

Knowledge of FGI guidelines for design & construction of healthcare facilities (hospitals, outpatient facilities and residential care settings). Required

Knowledge of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes and standards. Required

License to practice engineering in the State of Indiana
