Title: Workday HRMS SME

Location: Andover, MA ONSITE - 5 days a week onsite)

Duration: 12+ months contract

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Business Partner to lead the design, delivery, and optimization of Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions, with additional exposure to Workday Adaptive Planning (FI). This role will partner closely with HR leadership, IT teams, and external providers to ensure our Workday HRMS platform drives operational efficiency, employee experience, and long-term scalability. While the primary focus is Workday HR, knowledge of Adaptive Planning will be an advantage for supporting broader Finance/Workforce Planning initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnership & Strategy

Serve as a trusted advisor to HR leadership on all Workday HRMS-related initiatives.

Align HR technology roadmap with organizational objectives (talent strategy, workforce planning, employee engagement).

Influence decision-making on HR processes and best practices enabled by Workday.

Solution Architecture & Design

Lead the design and configuration of Workday HCM Core and key modules (Recruiting, Talent, Compensation, Absence, Payroll, Benefits).

Evaluate new Workday features/releases and recommend adoption strategies.

Oversee integrations with payroll, benefits, and third-party systems.

Product Management

Act as product owner for Workday HRMS, maintaining a prioritized backlog and roadmap.

Translate business requirements into functional specifications and user stories.

Ensure usability, compliance, and streamlined employee experience across modules.

Delivery & Leadership

Lead cross-functional delivery teams for Workday HRMS enhancements, upgrades, and rollouts.

Partner with Finance teams to provide limited support on Workday Adaptive Planning (budgeting, headcount planning, workforce modeling).

Ensure timely delivery with measurable HR process improvements and adoption outcomes.

Manage vendors and consultants for Workday projects.

Required Qualifications

10+ years in HR Technology / HRIS leadership roles.

6+ years of hands-on Workday HRMS experience (Core HCM plus multiple modules).

Strong knowledge of HR processes across the employee lifecycle.

Hands-on experience with Workday Adaptive Planning (model building, reporting, integration with Financials).

Experience in system architecture, integrations, and enterprise-wide HR technology transformation.

Strong understanding of HR and Finance processes (Workforce Planning, Budgeting, Forecasting, Organizational Design).

Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and vendor management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with Workday Adaptive Planning (model building, headcount planning, reporting).

Certification in Workday HCM or Workday modules.

Experience in large, global organizations with complex HR operations.

Exposure to Workday Financials considered a plus.
