Title: Engineering Team Lead
Job Location: 1 Seneca St., Buffalo, NY 14203. Telecommuting permitted up to 40% of the week.
Job Description: Lead a team responsible for developing and supporting mainframe software for consumer loan origination. Responsibilities include receiving applications, collecting and supplementing data for underwriting decisions, and overseeing review and decision function. Ensure delivered features meet specified business requirements and maintain high standards of quality throughout the process. Code within the COBOL programming language, make changes to application behavior and integration with external services as per business requirements, and ensure accuracy without disrupting business operations. Guide engineering teams in designing, implementing, testing, and delivering features and enhancements.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical field plus five (5) years in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Computer Programmer, or related occupation. Require five (5) years of experience with each of the following: software development using Cobol, JCL, CICS, and IBM Mainframe tools; Validating Cobol modules and batch process; and testing best practices for releasing. Must have two (2) years of experience in an engineering or technical lead role or managing a team of engineers.
