Position Title: Solution Architect
Location: Richmond, VA
Interview Process: Webcam, then In-person

We are seeking an experienced professional to support, maintain, and modernize legacy Integrated Revenue Management Systems (IRMS) for the Department of Taxation. This role focuses on ensuring the stability and performance of mission-critical state tax and revenue systems while supporting ongoing modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and enhance legacy state tax and revenue management systems (IRMS)
  • Serve as solution architect for enterprise tax systems
  • Design and support interfaces between legacy and modern platforms
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance across modernization efforts
  • Ensure continuity, accuracy, and performance of tax processing applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong functional and technical knowledge of integrated tax/revenue management systems
  • Experience supporting legacy tax platforms and system modernization
  • Hands-on experience with relational databases (Oracle 19c+, DB2, SQL Server, MySQL, etc.)
  • Ability to design and maintain clear, reliable code for mission-critical systems
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or similar project tracking tools
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or in teams
  • Agile development experience
