We are looking for a Tier III Systems Engineer for a direct hire opportunity in San Antonio, TX.

responsibilities:


  • Administers hybrid Microsoft infrastructure including Active Directory/Entra ID, Exchange/Office 365, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies to ensure seamless organizational communication and collaboration
  • Designs, deploys, and manages multi-cloud infrastructure across Azure, AWS, and VMware environments, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and security solutions aligned with business requirements
  • Performs advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for on-premises servers, private cloud, and public cloud infrastructure issues, collaborating with internal teams and vendor support as needed
  • Monitors environments for performance, security, and disaster recovery while implementing automated solutions using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and other relevant tools
  • Implements specialized cloud services such as Azure App Service, SQL Database, network security groups, and virtual networks to support business applications
  • Conducts capacity planning and performance tuning at the system level while researching emerging technologies to develop strategic roadmaps with senior management
  • Models Values Based Leadership principles and maintains safety compliance while collaborating across teams to deliver cloud-based solutions meeting business objectives


qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technologies, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Systems Administrator with hand-on public cloud experience required, over 8 years preferred.
  • Solid experience in designing, implementing, and managing Azure solutions across various Azure services or equivalent public cloud experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience working with suppliers conducting vendor evaluations, product proofs of concepts, pilots, and enterprise implementations preferred.


Preferred Certifications or obtained within 12 months of hire:



  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104),
  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Certification (e.g., AZ-800, AZ801 or related Microsoft Windows Server administration certifications)

  • Translates complex technical concepts into simplified, understandable solutions for diverse audiences through verbal, written, and presentation formats
  • Builds strong customer relationships and influences stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership


Technical Infrastructure Expertise



  • Proficient in hybrid cloud environments (VMware, Azure, AWS) including virtualization, storage solutions, and networking configurations
  • Expert in Microsoft core infrastructure suite (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, ADFS) and hybrid Microsoft 365 environments
  • Skilled in automation scripting using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and other tools for daily operations


Problem-Solving & Analysis



  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills to diagnose complex technical issues and determine corrective actions
  • Experienced in monitoring, logging, performance analysis, and root cause identification across multiple systems


Project Management & Organization



  • Manages multiple projects with shifting priorities while meeting deadlines and maintaining documentation/SOPs
  • Participates in IT Change Control processes and impact assessments for end-user communities


Self-Direction & Adaptability



  • Works effectively in fast-paced, changing environments with minimal oversight
  • Self-motivated to stay current with technology advancements and expand technical expertise into emerging areas


Collaboration & Teamwork



  • Excels in cross-functional team environments emphasizing cooperation, communication, and mutual respect
  • Negotiates solutions among stakeholder groups and reconciles discrepancies to reach mutual agreements
