WORKSTATION SECURITY ENGINEER - Hybrid 3 days (near Providence RI) - 6 month initial contract (CONTRACT TO HIRE) candidates -
This role focuses specifically on identifying, analyzing, and remediating vulnerabilities at the workstation and OS level, particularly within a Windows-based environment.
The ideal candidate is not a generalist but a security engineer who deeply understands how operating system security works, knows how to interpret vulnerability reports (such as from Qualys), and can design and test effective remediations.
- Analyze vulnerability reports (e.g., Qualys), identify root causes, and test remediations in a lab environment.
- Design and implement secure OS configurations aligned with CVE, CIS benchmarks, and hardening best practices.
- Remediate endpoint misconfigurations, outdated software, and system weaknesses, primarily on Windows OS.
- Collaborate with engineering to operationalize and deploy tested remediations enterprise-wide.
- Bring 5+ years of endpoint security experience with deep knowledge of Windows internals; MacOS and security certifications are a plus.
