The Global Business Unit IT team is at the forefront of leveraging data and technology to launch new medicines to market, to raise awareness and to gain access to medicines for appropriate patients. With a deep technical and business understanding, working across working across all therapeutic areas/disease states, we design and implement digital solutions to power our business, creating best-in class customer engagements that improve patient outcomes and deliver business results.

As part of our commitment to improving patient outcomes, Customer Support Programs (CSP) play a critical role in patient care by helping patients get off to a good start by providing easy access to Lilly medicines, connecting them to vital support resources throughout their treatment journey.

What You'll Be Doing!

The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Tech Lead is responsible for performing full-cycle software development tasks in an Agile Software Development environment in addition to leading a team of Marketing Cloud developers. The individual in this position will be responsible for, but not limited to, defining solution specifications from business requirements; configure/build/customize Salesforce Marketing Cloud and lead a team of Marketing Cloud developers.

How you'll Succeed
  • Guide a team of Marketing Cloud developers in implementing Marketing Cloud.
  • Provide Salesforce Marketing Cloud subject matter knowledge in the evaluation, design, planning and deployment of technical solutions to drive exceptional user experience and increased productivity.
  • Design and deliver industry-leading solutions on the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform.
  • Partner with the MC Senior Tech Lead to provide guidance and expertise on Salesforce Marketing Cloud architecture, design and implementation and design and lead Marketing Cloud development efforts.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to prioritize various initiatives, assist in developing requirements and translating business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Provide estimates of the level of effort to implement a solution based on business requirements.
  • Lead technical design sessions, design and document technical solutions that are aligned with the client's business objectives.
  • Lead grooming workshops with business and technical resources
  • Conduct design walkthroughs
  • Lead the technical delivery of Marketing Cloud implementations.

What You Should Bring
  • Understanding of Agile principles, including user story creation and grooming
  • Experience defining business requirements, writing user stories, and providing detailed system and functional designs.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills with ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of responsibility and authority.
  • Strong trouble-shooting and organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proactive mindset that can solve issues and involve stakeholders as needed.
  • Strong learning agility
  • Strong self-management skills
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and changing requirements.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related technical field
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in setting up, configuring and managing Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Must have 3+ years of hands-on experience working with Email Studio, Journey Builder, Audience Builder and Automation Studio


Desirable Skills:
  • Pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience.
  • Proficient with AMPscript, SSJS, XML, and other web development languages (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript).
  • Experience with web development design languages, scripting tools, and protocols such as HTTP, CSS, XSLT, AJAX, JQuery.
  • Understands digital marketing strategy and production processes.
  • Self-motivated to work and learn independently while solving problems.
  • Quick learner to new trends in technology.
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Salesforce CRM.
  • Marketing Cloud Connector, and MobileConnect experience preferred.
