Overview

As a KDB+ Developer in our Fixed income and Currencies (FIC) Technology, Market Data team, you will play a pivotal role in building and supporting our numerous global time-series market data platforms. You will be at the heart of the Bank's strategic data infrastructure, enabling critical services such as intraday and historical market data, transaction capture, and regulatory reporting. By collaborating across regions and business lines, you will help shape the architecture and delivery of platforms that power quant analysis, risk management, and trading decisions. What You'll Do
  • Hands on coding in kdb/q (knowledge of Java is a plus but not essential)
  • Face off to the Business in multiple regions to understand requirements and translate it into design and delivery
  • Work effectively in a small, flat and regionally distributed multi-skilled team which supports kdb platforms for our businesses globally
  • Take end-to-end responsibility for delivery: working with other IT groups to define and deliver proper hardware infrastructure, deploy kdb components and work with Support teams to establish monitoring
  • Be heavily involved in architectural design discussions to help shape the strategic direction of our platforms
Skills You'll Need
  • Extensive development experience with KDB+
  • Deep exposure to financial market data
  • Strong understanding of KDB architecture and design best practices
  • Solid background in financial services and financial market data workflows
  • Thorough grounding in fundamental software engineering and computer science principles: object-oriented design, structured design, databases, algorithms, data structures, usability, refactoring, debugging, and configuration management

  • Excellent communications skills, able to communicate clearly and effectively

The salary range for this position in Cary is $100,000 to $142,250. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications.
