Job Details

The Director of IT Quality Engineering (QE) will be responsible for managing and delivering strategies and solutions for testing highly complex enterprise-wide technology solutions consisting of multiple business process domains that support Healthfirst s (HF) mission and goals as well as the overall roadmap for Quality Engineering for the enterprise. The incumbent will be accountable for coordinating across the program teams to deliver strategies and solutions around test automation, test environments, test data, continuous testing (DevOps) and performance testing/engineering required to successfully test all major applications. Work with different stakeholders and come up with solutions and accelerators that induce efficiency and quality also reduce cycle times. Engineering mindset, creative and out of the box thinking will play a major role to achieve the tasks and deliverables. This position will report to the AVP of IT Quality Engineering and will provide strategic direction, team leadership; resource and budget management; technical, strategic and tactical oversight; prepare and present reports and metrics; ensure that standardized methods and procedures are followed. The role will also require management of distributed teams across geographies.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    Strong understanding of application development and engineering principles, sound knowledge of agile methodology (preferably SAFE), good knowledge on database concepts, experience in building DevOps pipelines, sound knowledge on quality assurance, excellent leadership and communication skills.

    Work continuously on identifying new tools and frameworks to improve efficiency & quality. Execute proof of concepts on new tools and frameworks, build and present proof of concept outcomes in the required forums. Assure that the QA department remains up-to-date on new technology, industry trends/product news and SDLC changes.

    Build engineering solutions and tools to help application testing activities, define strategies for test automation. Work with program teams to understand their needs and define roadmap accordingly. Perform presentations with different stakeholders and forums as needed.

    Work on with the DevOps team on implementing continuous testing and integrating with pipelines. Design and deliver new frameworks as needed.

    Define and implement strategies for performance testing and engineering for various applications. Work on implementing Application Performance Monitoring tools to collect vital metrics. Work with the team in identifying gaps and thrive towards improvements.

    Generate and present metrics and KPIs for areas like test automation, performance testing and continuous testing.

    Work on budgeting for System Team, resource management and team development.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor s degree in computer science or information technology or related field.

    Minimum of 10+ years of experience around application development and engineering. Good knowledge on scripting languages like Python, shell etc.

    Experience in building and maintaining DevOps pipelines.

    Sound knowledge on database concepts & data models.

    Exposure to application performance engineering and test automation using tools and frameworks like Selenium, TOSCA, ROBOT etc..

    Experience in managing medium-to-large-scale teams and across geographies.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Exposure to AWS, concepts around containerization, YAML based orchestrations.

    Knowledge around API & service-oriented architectures.

    Exposure to reporting platforms like Graphana and Tableau.

    Exposure to AI concepts including generative AI.

    Hiring Range*:

    • Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $170,400 - $260,610

    • All Other Locations (within approved locations): $140,600 - $215,050
