Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned and forward-thinking Lead Engineer Custom Applications & Integration to drive the development, integration, and maintenance of custom-built enterprise applications. This is a hands-on leadership role that will play a key part in the company s digital transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership and communication skills to lead cross-functional development teams and deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of developers and integration specialists.
  • Coordinate with implementation partners and internal teams to ensure alignment on priorities and deliverables.
  • Oversee task assignment, performance monitoring, and professional development initiatives.

Custom Application Development

  • Manage the complete software development lifecycle (SDLC), from design to deployment and maintenance.
  • Convert business requirements into scalable and secure technical solutions.
  • Enforce best practices in coding, version control, and software deployment.

Integration Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement integration strategies to connect custom applications with enterprise platforms (e.g., ERP, CRM, third-party systems).
  • Utilize technologies such as RESTful APIs, ETL, messaging queues, and ESBs for seamless data flow.
  • Ensure system performance, data security, and integrity.

Technical Leadership & Innovation

  • Define development methodologies and introduce new tools and frameworks.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and assess their value for organizational use.
  • Participate in architectural design reviews and recommend technical improvements.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms for business and IT stakeholders.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal departments and external partners.
  • Regularly communicate project status, risks, and solutions to stakeholders.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for codebases, integrations, APIs, and system architectures.
  • Define and uphold development and integration standards in line with enterprise IT policies.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master s preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in custom application development and integration, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, Python, .NET, JavaScript, or similar programming languages.
  • Expertise in integration technologies including RESTful APIs, SOAP, ETL tools, and message queues.
  • Experience integrating with enterprise systems like SAP.
  • Solid knowledge of both relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure and their integration tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) and related integration tools.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of application security and data governance principles.
  • Familiarity with data quality management tools and practices.
