About the Role
We are seeking 4 Senior Mechanical Designers/Checkers with expertise in Body in White (BIW) Tooling Fixtures for automotive manufacturing. This role is focused on mechanical design and checking, not product design or engineering. Candidates must have experience with North American Auto Manufacturer standards and Siemens NX CAD software.

About the Role
We are seeking 4 Senior Mechanical Designers/Checkers with expertise in Body in White (BIW) Tooling Fixtures for automotive manufacturing. This role is focused on mechanical design and checking, not product design or engineering. Candidates must have experience with North American Auto Manufacturer standards and Siemens NX CAD software.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and check mechanical tooling fixtures for Body Shop applications.
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models using Siemens NX.
- Apply knowledge of BIW assembly strategies, geometry setting, and fixture tools for framing lines, bodyside systems, and sub-assemblies.
- Modify and revise existing designs to correct deficiencies or improve manufacturability.
- Create and update kit sheets showing design changes.
- Coordinate with project engineers, technical leaders, and vendors to ensure design consistency and compliance.
- Review customer specifications and apply corporate and plant standards.
- Utilize NAAMS standards and CAD check tools.
- Support installation, start-up, and final machine acceptance at customer sites as needed.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in mechanical design for BIW tooling fixtures.
- Proficiency in Siemens NX CAD software.
- Strong understanding of automotive body assembly processes and tooling design.
- Familiarity with NAAMS standards and customer-specific requirements.
- Experience with fixture and detail stack-up methodology.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel domestically (5-20%) and internationally as needed.
- Associate's Degree in Mechanical Technology or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in Powertrain or BIW tooling.
- Knowledge of mechanical design sequences and controls documentation.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical design issues and analyze customer data.
- Experience with vendor coordination and component integration.
- Siemens NX
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Windows OS
- CAD platforms and associated applications
