Description:
Design, actualize, and launch embedded software/firmware for microcontrollers, FPGAs, and similar environments.
Architect Hardware solutions and assist in schematic capture/board layouts.
Integrate and test embedded software/firmware on embedded hardware.
Identify and resolve software/firmware related hardware issues through debugging and testing processes.
Create and maintain design specific technical, as well as formal, documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's and four (4) years or more experience .
4+ years in embedded system design, analysis, and testing.
Familiarity with System Engineering concepts.
Hands on troubleshooting using test equipment to help isolate problems and ability to generate solutions.
Fluent in C/C++, VHDL and/or Verilog.
Experience with Xilinx's FPGA and Development Suites
CLEARANCE REQUIRMENT:
Must be able to initially obtain an Interim Secret Clearance and then obtain and hold an Active Secret Clearance for the duration of work on the contract.
DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
PCB design with Mentor Graphics PADS Layout, Cadence OrCAD PCB Designer, Altium, or Eagle.
Experience with MATLAB, data manipulation, processing, and visualization.
FPGA experience using Vivado for Xilinx hardware (FPGAs, SOCs, MPSOCs etc.) or Quartus for Intel products in Verilog and/or VHDL.
Developing and executing test plans for electronic subsystems.
Experience with soldering and debugging circuits.
Hands on lab experience using oscilloscopes, function generators, network analyzers etc.
Experience with marine hardware including ROVs, UUVs, sonar, arrays, and transducers.
Familiarity with National Instruments (NI) products including PXI hardware, LabVIEW, CVI, or TestStand.
Experience with embedded operating systems such as Xilinx's PetaLinux, or RTOS.
Familiarity with device drivers, on both bare-metal and OS systems, for peripheral sensors/actuators and other devices.
Experience with communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, or CAN, and other technical standards such as LVDS and SSI.
