Job Title: PMO Lead / Program Manager (Budget Planning Transformation)

Location: Washington, DC (Onsite, 1 2 days/week initially and later 4 days/week)
Duration: 12 Months (extension likely)

Position Overview:

Seeking a highly proactive PMO Lead / Program Manager to support a major budget planning system transformation. You will serve as the right-hand partner to a senior leader currently managing the program, owning PMO operations and cross-functional coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day PMO operations for a large-scale budget transformation program.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the project lead, attending executive meetings and driving follow-ups.
  • Prepare high-level presentations and executive-facing materials (VP/Director-level).
  • Coordinate across multiple vendors, business units, and internal teams.
  • Track project plans, milestones, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Support business and user coordination across functional departments.
  • Engage in strategic planning and transformation initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10 12 years of experience in PMO leadership, project management, or business transformation.
  • Proven background in large-scale enterprise implementations or transformations.
  • Strong understanding of SAFe 6.0 / Agile methodologies (certifications preferred).
  • Experience working in consulting or other fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication skills - able to confidently engage with VP and Director-level stakeholders.
  • Strong PowerPoint skills; capable of producing executive-level presentations.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and strong on accountability management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP or ERP systems, especially around budgeting/finance.
  • MBA or business-focused academic background (not a technical role).
  • Prior experience in budget planning or financial transformation programs.
