Summary:
The Business Intelligence Analyst (BIA) is a strategic analytics professional who delivers insight-driven reporting and data visualizations that support informed decision-making across clinical, academic, and financial domains. This role requires strong proficiency in Tableau, SQL, and relational database concepts, along with a solid understanding of financial principles. The BIA crafts actionable narratives tailored to financial stakeholders and collaborates effectively with technical peers for backend development, troubleshooting, and IT compliance. Success in this role requires the ability to manage multiple projects, demonstrate initiative in identifying and driving improvements, and maintaining a controls mindset focused on accuracy and data integrity. The BIA thrives in a fast-paced environment and adapts quickly to changing requirements and priorities.
Responsibilities:
Communication & Relationships- Act as a liaison between hospital leadership, clinical teams, financial managers, IT, and other stakeholders. Support departmental and organizational priorities and serve as a guide for the organization's business intelligence strategy. Translate complex technical criteria into clear, actionable insights for financial audiences, while also communicating effectively with technical teams to ensure backend functionality and compliance.
Dashboard & Scorecard Development- Design and maintain high-impact dashboards and scorecards using Tableau, focusing on key performance indicators that drive strategic and operational decisions. Ensure visualizations are intuitive, accurate, and aligned with organizational goals.
SQL & Database Proficiency- Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and validate data from enterprise databases. Understand data models, table relationships, and database structures to support robust and scalable analytics solutions.
Financial & Healthcare Analytics- Apply financial acumen to support healthcare analytics initiatives, including predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and prescriptive insights. Leverage data to uncover trends, validate assumptions, and support budgeting, forecasting, and performance improvement efforts.
Controls & Accuracy Focus- Uphold a strong controls mindset by implementing validation checks, documentation standards, and quality assurance processes. Ensure all analytics outputs meet high standards of accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
Project Management & Initiative- Manage multiple concurrent projects with clear planning and prioritization. Show initiative in identifying opportunities for process improvement, automation, and enhanced data utilization. Drive solutions forward with minimal oversight.
Adaptability & Agility- Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness to evolving business needs, stakeholder feedback, and shifting priorities.

Licensure/Certification Requirements:
No licensure or certification required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
If Bachelor's degree in general field, requires three (3) years of experience
If Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field (i.e. Engineering, Math, Computer Science, Analytics, etc.), requires one (1) year of experience
If Master's degree, requires one (1) year of experience
If Associate's degree, requires nine (9) years of experience
If High School degree, requires eleven (11) years of experience
