Associate Configuration Management Engineer

The Boeing Company is seeking an Entry Configuration Management Engineer to support the Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) Air Dominance programs in St. Louis, MO.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing configuration planning, compilation of product data, identification, change control, tracking, and verification, extracting technical product definition data, and facilitating program baseline management.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Review prime contract and supplier contract change management requirements.
  • Interpret configuration management plans and processes.
  • Assign and maintain product and document identification.
  • Evaluate and coordinate proposed engineering changes.
  • Prepare change control documents such as Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), Requests for Variance (RFV), Change Documents/Change Requests (CD/CRs), Conduct program Change Control Boards (CCB), support configuration audits, generate configuration status reports, and others.
  • Support the generation of Technical Data Packages (TDP) through interpretation of technical data delivery requirements and analysis and compilation of product design definition data
  • Collaborate with fellow configuration management engineers on configuration management principles and job practices.
  • Collaborate with customers.
  • Engage in program planning.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires ship as a condition of employment.
  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Level 1: equivalent combination of technical education and work-related experience with a Bachelors degree
  • 1+ years using Excel to perform data analysis
  • 1+ years editing PDF and Word files

  • Demonstrated interest in personal learning and development as well as process improvement.
  • Ability to accomplish tasks through formal channels and informal networks; an understanding of the cultures of organizations and ability to apply this information in a way that strengthens the organization's strategic plan and profitability.

  • Excellent spoken and written communication across organizations.

Typical Education/Experience:

Level 1: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
