Job Description
We're seeking a talented, passionate Senior User Experience Designer. You'll be at the forefront of building innovative telehealth experiences that scale nationwide, creating intuitive digital solutions that set new standards in virtual healthcare delivery. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of healthcare technology while working with one of the most customer-obsessed companies in the world.
Responsibilities:
- Design end-to-end telehealth experiences that are intuitive, accessible, and scalable across multiple platforms and devices
- Create comprehensive user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes for innovative healthcare solutions
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and medical teams to define feature requirements based on patient needs, clinical workflows, and healthcare regulations
- Conduct and analyze user research to inform design decisions and optimize the telehealth experience
- Present design solutions to stakeholders, including executive leadership and medical professionals
- Contribute to design system development and maintain consistent user experience across all touchpoints
- Lead design thinking workshops and foster innovation in healthcare UX/UI
- 7+ years of experience in UX/UI design, with demonstrable experience in healthcare or medical technology
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, HCI, or equivalent professional experience
- Strong portfolio showcasing complex digital healthcare solutions and user-centered design work
- Expertise in modern design tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, etc.)
- Experience with user research methodologies and usability testing
- Experience working in agile environments with rapid iteration cycles
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, ability to advocate for user needs while balancing business and technical constraints
- Strong project management skills and ability to lead complex initiatives
- Understanding of and ability to design within Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
- Experience designing for telehealth or medical applications
- Knowledge of healthcare workflows and medical terminology
- Proficiency in rapid prototyping tools and basic front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Experience with design systems and component libraries
- Track record of launching successful healthcare products
- Understanding of healthcare privacy requirements (HIPAA)
- Business Group: Amazon One Medical Pay Per Visit, which provides telehealth services across all 50 US states
- Team Culture: Super collaborative and generally outgoing
- Work: Delivering messaging and video telehealth visits to patients through Amazon.com and the Amazon Shopping App
- Reason for the Role: Temporary coverage for a team member on leave
- Have a strong grasp of the design problem by end of week one
- Create mockups, respond to PMs and engineers
- Begin designing for both existing features and upcoming product plans
- Designers work closely with PMs and engineers in shared pods
