Job Title: DICOM Integration Consultant
Location: Fully Remote
Job Type: Long-Term Contract
Pay Rate: $50 - $75/hr No 3rd parties



Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced DICOM Integration Consultant to lead the consolidation of multiple PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems) into a centralized Laurel Bridge Compass DICOM routing and workflow solution. This is a long-term, fully remote contract opportunity ideal for a seasoned healthcare IT professional with deep expertise in medical imaging systems, DICOM protocols, and enterprise integration strategies.



Responsibilities:


  • Assist with the consolidation of multiple PACS systems into a unified DICOM workflow using Laurel Bridge Compass.
  • Lead DICOM routing, forwarding, and normalization efforts to ensure interoperability across imaging systems.
  • Work closely with radiology departments, PACS administrators, and IT teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Configure and maintain DICOM nodes, AE Titles, and communication rules within Compass.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve DICOM communication issues, workflow errors, and integration conflicts.
  • Develop documentation, standard operating procedures, and best practices for DICOM routing and PACS consolidation.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA.



Requirements:


  • 5+ years of experience with DICOM protocol and PACS system integration.
  • Hands-on experience with Laurel Bridge Compass or similar DICOM workflow/routing tools is required.
  • Strong understanding of HL7, IHE profiles, and medical imaging workflows.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting DICOM communication and routing issues using tools such as Wireshark, DVTk, or similar.
  • Familiarity with various PACS systems (e.g., Visage, GE, Philips, Fuji, Sectra, Agfa).
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
