Job Details
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Business Analyst.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and document complex business processes for:
- Division of Parole and Probation
- o Division of Corrections
- o Arrest and Booking
- o Pretrial Services
- o Maryland Parole Commission
- Troubleshoot issues and conduct root cause analysis by reproducing user-reported workflows and identifying viable resolutions or escalation paths to developers.
- Work closely with developers, QA, and stakeholders to ensure functional, technical, and performance requirements are met.
- Maintain and manage user access, permissions, and issue resolution related to QlikView Business Intelligence tools.
- Elicit, gather, and document requirements through interviews, workshops, and analysis sessions.
- Develop detailed documentation, including:
- Business Requirements Documents (BRD)
- o Functional Specifications
- o System Design Specifications
- o User Manuals and Technical Guides
- Create use cases, screen mockups, UML diagrams (using MS Visio and Axure RP), and perform gap, impact, and cost-benefit analyses.
Assist in creating and managing traceability matrices and supporting software testing including UAT.
Support both Agile and Waterfall SDLC methodologies across different project phases.
- Develop and execute SQL queries to validate data integrity and support data analysis.
- Collaborate with project managers, stakeholders, and QA teams to ensure project scope and timelines are met.
- Deliver impactful presentations tailored to business and technical audiences.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in enterprise or government environments.
- Experience with QlikView BI Tool troubleshooting and access management.
- Strong documentation and business writing skills.
- Hands-on experience with:
- UML modeling (Use Case, Sequence, Activity, State diagrams)
- o Use case development and user story documentation
- o Requirements traceability and impact analysis
- Familiarity with web services technologies (HTTP, XML, SOAP, WSDL).
- Strong SQL skills with understanding of ETL processes, database schema, and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience assisting with test planning, test case development, and facilitating UAT sessions.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and stakeholder management skills.
