IT Security Architect 3

• Hybrid: Onsite 2 days/week (Tuesday and Wednesday); 3 days/week WFH
• W2 position; 12 months, with possible extension
• Open to Michigan candidates only.

• The IT Security Architect will provide cybersecurity architecture, design, and consulting services to various departments in the State of Michigan.
• The Security Architect will support the emerging field of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) and support and defend traditional and non-traditional IoT networks.

• Assist MDOT system engineers and operators implement and manage best practices to secure the evolving intelligent transportation backbone of the state of Michigan.
• Evaluate current and future cyber-physical transportation systems and make recommendations for improving the security posture to protect the transportation infrastructure from cyber security threats of all kinds.
• Assist in the selection, development, and implementation of systems and monitoring tools that focus on transport cybersecurity.
• Serve as a clearinghouse for issues as they arise.

• 3 to 4 years of experience as a Security Architect or related position is required.
• 3 to 4 years of experience doing Risk Assessments.
• 3 to 4 years of experience working to ensure compliance with security standards.
• 3 to 4 years of experience reviewing settings and configurations on systems and network devices for compliance with best practices.
• 3 to 4 years of experience coordinating and conduction vulnerability scans.
• Knowledge of NIST.
• Knowledge of Intelligent Transportation Systems.
