JOB DESCRIPTION

ROLE PURPOSE

The Functional-Solution Architect translates complex Finance and Supply-Chain requirements into robust Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009/2013 solutions and governs their end-to-end delivery. In addition to owning functional design, data integrity, and upgrade paths, the architect liaises with technical teams to ensure scalable, high-performance systems. The position may also assume Delivery-Manager duties-planning, budgeting, and steering multi-disciplinary teams-when required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Functional Leadership (Finance & SCM)

* Conduct discovery workshops to capture statutory, regulatory and operational requirements.

* Perform fit-gap analysis against NAV 2009/2013 functionality; design configurations, customisations or ISV add-ons.

* Configure and optimise:

- Finance: General Ledger, AP, AR, Cash & Bank, Fixed Assets, Budgets, Multi-currency, Consolidations, Cost Accounting, IFRS/GAAP compliance.

- Supply Chain: Item & SKU master data, Inventory costing, Replenishment, Purchasing, Sales Order processing, Returns, Warehouse (bins, directed pick/put-away), MRP/MPS, Manufacturing (BOM, routings, capacity), Logistics & Transportation.

* Produce Functional Design Documents (FDDs), process maps, test scripts and user-training materials.

* Lead UAT, cut-over planning and post-go-live support for Finance and SCM work-streams.

B. Solution & Upgrade Architecture

* Own the overall solution blueprint covering data model, integrations, security and performance.

* Plan and execute upgrades/migrations between NAV 2009 Classic and NAV 2013 RTC (object merge, data conversion, regression test strategy).

* Oversee integrations with banking platforms, EDI/3PL providers, POS, PLM or other ERP modules via web services, .NET interop and SQL.

* Establish governance: coding standards, release management, DevOps pipeline, documentation.

* Advise on scalability, high-availability, backup/restore and disaster-recovery strategies.

C. (Optional) Delivery / Program Management

* Build and manage project plans, budgets, resourcing, risks and issues.

* Run Agile-Scrum or Sure Step ceremonies, status reporting and steering-committee sessions.

* Track KPIs-scope adherence, burn-down, earned-value, defect density-to ensure on-time / on-budget delivery.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Dynamics NAV Expertise

* 8+ years NAV with demonstrable leadership on both v2009 Classic Client and v2013 RTC projects.

* Solid understanding of data structures, posting routines and batch jobs within NAV Finance & SCM.

Finance Competency

* Configuration and support of GL, sub-ledgers, FA, multi-currency, cost accounting and electronic banking.

* Knowledge of statutory reporting (IFRS/GAAP) and tax/localisation requirements.

Supply-Chain Competency

* Deep grasp of end-to-end order-to-cash and procure-to-pay cycles.

* Proven experience with inventory valuation methods, warehouse processes, manufacturing production orders and planning (MRP).

Technical & Integration

* Able to collaborate with developers on C/AL, object design, RDLC reports, SQL tuning, web services.

* Experience driving 2009 2013 code/data upgrades and performance remediation.

Soft Skills

* Strong workshop facilitation, documentation and stakeholder-management skills.

* Ability to translate business language into actionable technical/functional deliverables.

DESIRABLE / 'ADDED ADVANTAGE'

* 3+ years as Delivery Manager / Program Manager for ERP initiatives.

* Certifications: PMP / PRINCE2, Scrum Master, Microsoft Sure Step, or Dynamics NAV Financials & Trade certificates.

* Exposure to later NAV versions or Dynamics 365 Business Central, Power BI, Power Platform.

* Experience in Manufacturing, Retail or Distribution verticals.

EDUCATION

* Bachelor s in Finance, Accounting, Supply-Chain, Information Systems or related field; equivalent work experience considered.
