Product Owner/Product Manager

We are seeking a strategic and collaborative Product Owner/Manager to lead the vision, planning, and delivery of data and reporting platform solutions. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams and clients to deliver scalable reporting, analytics, and dashboard solutions through a modern data platform tool like Databricks. The ideal candidate brings a blend of technical understanding, business acumen, and agile product management expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Collaborate with internal and external clients to gather requirements and define success metrics.
• Conduct discovery and review sessions to understand needs, manage expectations, and identify potential enterprise solutions.
• Maintain transparent communication with stakeholders regarding priorities, delivery timelines, and changes.

Product Ownership & Agile Delivery:

• Own and manage the product backlog, balancing strategic goals with custom client requests and high-value deliverables.
• Define and maintain Epics, Features, and User Stories that clearly outline requirements and value.
• Use a combination of Scrum and Kanban practices to manage team delivery across multiple concurrent projects.

Platform Development & Analytics:

• Contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of data platforms and reporting tools, including SQL Server, SSRS, Qlik, Power BI, Databricks, Snowflake, and Tableau.
• Define KPIs and business measures in collaboration with stakeholders and data teams.
• Work closely with UX/UI designers and data engineers to create intuitive dashboards and insightful analytics experiences.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution:

• Translate business requirements into clear specifications and support documentation (e.g., BRDs, FRDs, mockups).
• Conduct system testing and user acceptance testing (UAT), including SQL query validation, to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
• Support urgent client requests and step into Scrum Master or developer roles when necessary to meet critical deadlines.

Team Leadership & Mentorship:

• Mentor and train new team members to accelerate onboarding and align with best practices.
• Manage competing demands on team members to protect committed deliverables while accommodating ad hoc needs.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or in a similar data-focused role.
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and product lifecycle management.
• Experience with BI/reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, and SSRS.
• Must have Familiarity with data platforms like Databricks.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
