Job Details

Title: Siemens Controls Engineer

Location: Warren, OH onsite (The lead role will require one week of travel to Malaysia for training 10/20-10/25)
Length of Contract: 5 months

Hours: 40-50 hours per week (OT will need approval from client)
Ideal Start Date: 11/10/25 (Target end date 3/31/2026)
Interview Process: 1 Round - 30-minute MS TEAMS interview (Want to identify someone by Tuesday (10/7 or 10/8)

Background check/Drug Screen Required (Can be done in tandem as you start)


Brief Position Overview:
Controls Engineer (Siemens/TIA Portal)
Responsibilities:
Review functional specifications and customer standards (OEM, safety, siemens programming guidelines
Define PLC and HMI architecture.
Plan integration between PLC and Fanuc robots.
Develop tag lists, I/O maps, and network layouts.
Develop Siemens S7 PLC logic in TIA Portal (or Step 7, depending on PLC generation).
Configure hardware (S7-1500/S7-1200, ET200SP remote I/O, safety CPUs).
Program automation sequences for conveyors, machines, and Fanuc robot coordination.
Integrate Fanuc robots using communication protocols (Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, or I/O handshaking).
Configure safety logic (F-CPU safety blocks, e-stops, light curtains, door interlocks).
Develop HMI/SCADA screens (WinCC, Ignition, or Siemens HMIs) for operators.
Commission and debug automation during line bring-up.
Support FAT/SAT with electrical and mechanical builders by troubleshooting integration issues.
